No way man!! I'm going to machine a special
threaded part on the Lathe that replaces the alter=
nator cap. Then I'm making a billet alluminum or
4140 chromoly steel kick start arm which will attach
to the shaft through the alternator cap. Simple
plan right? Unfortunately, it will be a left-handed
kick. It's more for looks and emergency. I'll of
course be using the electric start. I just got the
idea and if it looks wierd being in that spot and
on the left side, I'll get rid of it, but it should
work putting the bike in neutral and giving it a
good firm kick. I may even make it so it is detach-
able and make a mount for it on the right side frame
when it is not in use. I'm making a suicide shift
for sure though this week, just so my bars will be
cleaner. Basically it's going to be just like the
old jockey shifts on old Harleys. I'm not sure yet
if I want the manual part to operate the shifter or
the clutch, but I'm leaning toward clutch. I'm also
not sure yet if I'm going to mount it where the
old left side passenger peg was or mount it above the
gas tank like on old Indians. It should be pretty
easy to do. It will all be made CNC from aircraft
alluminum and will be pocketed out to be lightweight.
P.S. Of course all items are also for sale!!
$200.00 for the kick start kit.
$200.00 for the suicide shift kit.
If I can find a way to lower the prices, I will
but I won't make parts for less money then I make
on my regular job!! Why would I?
P.P.S. Seriously, help me out. I want to post
pictures for everyone to see. How the hell do I
do it? I went to Kinko's and they didn't have a
digital camera. So where can I go to get pics up?
